Founded in 1921 as a "Workshop for the processing of brass and nickel silver sheet metal, with foundry", Alessi has always stood out for the high quality of its products. In almost a century of history, the company has gradually evolved to become one of the leading "Factories of Italian design", capable of applying its expertise and excellence in design management to many different product types.
The Joy No. 3 Stainless Steel Round Tray was designed by Claudia Raimondo for Alessi. It is part of the Joy Collection that includes the Joy No. 1 Centrepiece and Joy No. 11 basket. The Tray features an intriguing play of reflections that characterises these objects, which originated from the union between Claudia Raimondo’s research and Alessi’s focus on the "skin of the object."
The experience gained in the manufacturing of steel surfaces, even the most complex, has made it possible to create interesting projects and to consolidate a technologically sophisticated manufacturing process. "Joy n.3" is a round tray with embossed sides and an uneven, jagged rim. The irregular texture embellishes the object and is reminiscent of the surfaces crafted by master silversmiths. The tray was created through the coldmolding of a steel plate. The facets that create the particular texture of the object are proportionally sized to the generous surface of the tray.
To preserve the beautiful finish of this tray, do not clean with abrasive detergents.
